MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

I know Americans like to talk openly about how much they earn.

Here in the UK it isn't done.

Lower Jan 29

I didn't realise it, because I don't usually bother with that kind of thing. However, prompted by the query, I checked it out and it turns out I did earn roughly 30% less in 2023 than in the previous year.
C'est la vie

Not to the point where you can't respond to an anonymous poll about whether your income has risen or fallen.

I think mine was slightly lower.

As someone who doesn't like filing and numbers, I am very jealous of your graph skills!

And my 23 was good, but not as good as 22.

Lower Jan 30

No new record turnover for the fifth time in a row, but still my third best result ever. So I'm not complaining.

January 2024, on the other hand, was unusually slow, so I'm not off to a great start.

Slightly lower, and deliberately so, because 2022 was a record-breaking and even ceiling-breaking year, when I smashed through the ceiling for the sweet'n'simple freelance status I enjoy.

The question asks you to say

"My 2023 annual income from language services was..."

Do try to focus.

Have you really still not grasped the concept of these polls?

The options given are higher, lower, same and other.

Nobody is asking for figures.

PS I was mistaken. My income last year was a bit higher than in 2022:
