Hello there! Ege here. I've been in the translation industry for almost 10 years now.
-I graduated from Boğaziçi University in 2018, majoring in Translation and Interpreting Studies.
-I worked actively for Snapchat as a Turkish language ambassador for 5 years, where I was reviewing all translations for Snap Inc.'s products (in-app texts, legal & marketing documents, games etc.), evaluating experience on the app, and providing cultural insights.
-I have a lot of subtitling and dubbing experience, across many platforms like Netflix and MUBI, and I am one of the resident subtitlers for prestigious film festivals around Turkey.
-As a translator, my main expertise is in marketing, including corporate communication and transcreation. Notable clients include: Google, Nike, Prada, Luxottica, Lavazza, Decathlon and L'Oréal.
-I am also experienced in video game and app localization. Previous clients include: Locpick & 23 Studios (for Cyberpunk 2077, Death Stranding, the Last of US and more), Ablo (Match Group), GreenTomatoMedia (party and couple games).
-I have worked for 3 years as a PM, including 18 months at Transperfect. I know seeing things from the client's perspective and how the overall translation process works across all stakeholders.
-I also have extensive knowledge on translation technologies and concepts like TM, glossary, style guide, machine translation, etc. Preferred CAT tool is Wordfast, but I have worked with pretty much all common ones, including Trados.
-I also have a huge passion for music and I have been writing at one of the most well-known independent music blogs in Turkey, called Avaz Avaz, since 2013. I have penned lots of album and concert reviews, music news, lists and I have made interviews with several musicians, both foreign and local.
-Besides, I have content creation and copywriting experience: I also worked voluntarily for a project called "Anatolian Rock Revival," where I gathered information about the singers and songs and shared them in tweet format or as video descriptions on Youtube.
