In an 1884 marriage record, the groom is listed as "soldatom Voisk Tsarstva Rossiiskago otpuskivem chetvyortago grenadyerskago astrakhanskago polka." I understand he was a soldier in the Russian Imperial Army and served as a member of the 4th Astrakhan Grenadier Regiment, but I'm not 100% sure how to interpret "otpuskivem" here. Had he been discharged? Or was he on a temporary leave at the time of his marriage?
