Russian term

учебно-производственная работа

Russian to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
From a certificate (qualification in arc welding) issued by a technical vocational college in the 1970s:

Зам. директора училища по учебно-производственной работе

What exactly is учебно-производственная работа? Is it the students' practical training / industral training?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you. The context is thoroughly industrial - arc welding etc. - so I'll opt for this version."

You know, I am a teacher. Actually, I had practical trainings during my studing at the University. Even 3 times :)
Note from asker:
Thank you. I'm really not sure what the "circular" means, and I see that it was queried at the time. But it's useful to know that "practical training" was translated into Russian in this way.

practicum

This is likely what we would call this in the US.

That would mean you have a Practicum Director or Practicum Coordinator, and so on.

That's right, Dylan. That's why I noted that this is typical in the US, as is "internship" as well.
Note from asker:
Thanks. It's marked "chiefly N. Amer." in the Oxford Dictionary.

On-the-job Training

One other option would be on-the-job training, often a formal program in trades.
