I could even understand using "suppressing" if this involves some measure that actively discourages people from buying the product

: "Reducing" implies the company is actively reducing demand, which makes no sense. (Ditto your "suppressing" comment.) That doesn't happen in the real world.

Risk reduction - usually actions by the company aimed at reducing the risk.
The word "reducing" presupposes not that the demand DROPS on its own, but that SOMEBODY, some other actor, reduces the demand.

I would suggest "risk of drop in product demand" - this way the ambiguity of implying the outside actor who is reducing the demand is excluded.
