Russian term

O таких как вы говорят от неё остались одни суставы.

Russian to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
This is again a sentence from the script of скорбное бесчувствие, by Aleksandr Sukarov.

The father, who has not recognised her daughter, says:

как это может статься, чтобы вы были ею. вы, женщина в летах. O таких как вы, сударына, говорят от неё остались одни суставы.

I am not sure I have this sentence quite right (after "сударына"). How would you translate it?

Discussion

Michael Moskowitz Jul 17, 2005:
The "skin and bones" is what comes to mind first, however, wouldn't the original say " "? Something strange about it.

It is about people like you that they say they are just skin and bone.

I think it is the lady being addressed who is thus indirectly described as being just skin and bone.
