Found in an Italian article from 1972 discussing Land art. I am looking for an English translation of "modus amoris" for a footnote explanation. So far I have it down as 'loving way' - is this close?

The paragraph (trans. from Italian) is as so...

"It [the creaton of Land art] is therefore a metaphysical approach, empirical since it purportedly seeks to keep as close to the original as possible, an attempt at a complete experience, an act of apprehension in the hope of corresponding with the object. The emotional deliberateness which brings the creator to identify with the landscape, forgetting themselves in it, nevertheless frustrates the Ego and does not reveal it. The new “modus amoris” towards this res extensa ultimately eludes all understanding; and yet this space of love serves to share the noetic-aesthetic-emotional content with the spectator."
