Discussion

Rachel Ward Oct 14, 2014:
High Mass High Mass relates to the way the service is celebrated, rather than to its festival character. See here: http://forums.catholic.com/showpost.php?s=4b5456cbe368a262d0...
British Diana Oct 14, 2014:
In my (mainly Lutheran) experience a Festgottesdienst is often a service for a special event or celebration such as a confirmation or a visit by a Bishop or when a church has been renovated etc. I'm not sure that "High Mass" conveys the "event" or the "celebration" character enough. What is the context`?
gfish (asker) Oct 14, 2014:
Catholic Church
H. C. Centner Oct 14, 2014:
Try the
Catholic encyclopedia liturgy of the Mass if this is for a Catholic context.
H. C. Centner Oct 14, 2014:
Is this for the Catholic Church or Protestant Church?
gfish (asker) Oct 14, 2014:
High Mass ist glaube ich das Hochamt (feierliche Messe, bei der bestimmte liturgische Texte gesungen werden). Aber vielleicht ist es ja das gleiche?
