German term

Neuzustand beinhalten

German to English Bus/Financial Furniture / Household Appliances Furniture Guarantee
"Die Garantie beinhaltet keine 10 Jahre Neuzustand. Bei Schäden jeglicher Art, verursacht durch Selbstabholung, Eigenmontage, Bedienungsfehler und Veränderungen von Montagezustand oder Verbrauchsmaterialien, wird keine Haftung übernommen."

From a 10-year guarantee for a furniture company. I can't make any sense whatsoever out of the sentence, "Die Garantie beinhaltet keine 10 Jahre Neuzustand". What on earth is meant by the expression, "Neuzustand beinhalten"? TIA for any light you can shed on this extremely strange phrase.

Discussion

Nicola Wood Feb 29, 2012:
at a guess I would say the company are pointing out that the item is not guaranteed to remain in perfect, good as new, condition for 10 years and they will not accept liability for any damage arising as a result of any of the factors they list thereafter.

The 10-year guarantee does not include (damage from) normal wear and tear

IMHO the original has a slightly abrasive tone about it that is hard to convey. I think Nicola is absolutely right and this is how I would translate it.
