Discussion

Lori Dendy-Molz Mar 29, 2006:
Client's always right of course. My steam iron features the rest mat on the tank and a large cord (which feeds in the steam) prevents being able to rest it on the 'heel'.
njbeckett (asker) Mar 29, 2006:
The customer says it's the rear of the iron.
Teresa Reinhardt Mar 29, 2006:
I think it's actually the rear of the iron - rubberized...I can't think of the term

If it's the rear of the iron, then the translation is "heel rest".

iron-rest mat

according to a UK site (I don't know that many Americans who iron ;-)
Peer comment(s):

agree Lori Dendy-Molz : Could just say 'iron rest,' but it's not part of the iron, it's a flat area on the storage tank where you can rest the iron when it's hot. Also agree with comment that we Amis don't iron-just what we're about to put on, so we don't need to rest it.
