German term
abermalige Wärmeübertragung
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Energy / Power Generation
Solar power
Context:
"Bei der CSP-Technik, wie sie etwa in Parabolrinnenkraftwerken zu finden ist sind wird die Sonneneinstrahlung gebündelt und ein Wärmeträgermedium erwärmt, welches dann nach abermaliger Wärmeübertragung eine Turbine samt Generator antreibt."
Talking about solar power generation using parabolic trough power plants. I can't find any reference that suggest that the heat transfer medium is heated repeatedly, or that the heat transfer process is repeated several times before it is used to drive a turbine and/or generator, and can't in fact find any other examples of such usage of the term "abermaliger Wärmeübertragung" either. What could this actually mean?
* Sentence or paragraph where the term occurs: See above
* Document type: Employee magazine
* Target audience: Industrial automation engineers
* Country and dialect (source): Germany
* Country and dialect (target): American English

after a subsequent heat exchange
As far as I can tell from a technical description, the heat transfer medium does not drive the turbine. Instead, it enters a heat-exchange module where a second heat exchange occurs that creates the steam that drives the turbine. The process is continuous, but that is not relevant here.

German term (edited):
abermaliger Wärmeübertragung
continual heat transfer
In the systems they are developing here in Germany for private use, the generators need a continual heat transfer to function properly. I don't know if this helps!
-1
8 hrs
repeated heat transfer
you could as well say
renewed heat transfer
renewed heat transfer

: No. If I understand the technical context correctly, it is a second, different, heat transfer. "Repeated" would imply the repetition of the same.
