Mit dem nachfolgenden Reglement definiert der Stiftungsrat die Kriterien, die geeignet sind, eine Privatschule in das Privatschulregister Schweiz einzutragen und damit ihre Seriosität und Vertrauenswürdigkeit zu bescheinigen.

I can't find a way to fit this into the sentence neatly - "...criteria that are suitable/appropriate to register..." sounds terrible IMHO.

the criteria for

in English you would just say "the criteria for entering/registering a school... " or "the criteria for having a school entered" or whatever .... Criteria, by definition, are to do with suitability/appropriateness, so I don't think you need to add anything else.
