I am not sure of the exact term in English for Artengarnitur.
Many thanks in advance,
Sheila

the range of species found/ the species range
The range of species found in the Caucasus is somewhat related with that of the Alps (Trisetum spicatum, Gnaphalium supinum, Saxifraga moschata e.g.) as with that of the Asian high mountain ranges, but very little with the species range of the polar regions.
Artengarnitur des Kaukasus literally means: all the species that the Caucasus is "equipped with"
This is a term from ecology, which was my major when i received my 'Diplom'

: this avoids the diversity issue, where you get caught up interspecific, or intraspecific diversity
