jig

I was lifting a jig off the press. It was a heavy duty nature jig. There were brackets on it that held it in place, which actually you had to lift the jig up out of the press. It caught. My initial reaction was to grab it from falling. It was a 55 pound jig. I grabbed it wrong. Well I grabbed it right but I grabbed it awkwardly. Basically, I didn’t feel anything at first, about lunchtime I started feeling a little pinching sensation in my back.

A jig is a type of custom-made tool used to control the location and/or motion of parts or other tools.
An example of a jig is when a key is duplicated; the original is used as a jig so the new key can have the same path as the old one.
A device that does both functions (holding the work and guiding a tool) is called a jig.
