varnish printing tests

screen tint
Screen Tint
Color created by dots instead of solid ink coverage. Also called Benday, fill pattern, screen tone, shading, tint and tone.
https://www.printindustry.com/glossary.aspx
"The term “screen tint” is generally used in reference to solid and graduated percentages of colour and the word “halftone” is generally used in reference to greyscale images such as photographs."
https://www.ashfieldprinting.co.uk/info/faq/gradients-screen...
Screen Tint
A screen pattern that consists of dots that are all the same size and create an even tone.
les « trous » laisses par les points blancs du tramage = 'between the dots'.
"Scattering of light occurs when light enters the layer of the halftone dot or when it enters the white paper between the dots."
https://repository.rit.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=4948&...
I feel tramage is used here when, a/c to the dictionary entry in the image below, I think fond tramé is meant. I'm probably splitting hairs, however. In any case, a/c to the dictionary entry at least, tramage is a process rather than a state.
And because I thought trap in your text was a typo for trop :
"Trap
To print one ink over another or to print a coating, such as varnish, over an ink. The first liquid traps the second liquid. See also Dry Traps and Wet Traps."
Still, chauffage baffles me.
