Faz sentido a tradução "luz de estacionamento", considerando as definições de "standing light" que encontrei em fóruns:

I think that's a European option. It leaves the parking lights on, on the street side, for safer narrow street parking. It helps drivers see the parked car better in dimmly lit, narrow streets. Having only the street side lit helps conserve battery power and bulb life.

I was just wondering if you guys could check your cars and see which lights illuminate when you activate the standing lights. For those who don't know, the standing lights are the two positions on the headlight switch that are to the left (counterclockwise) from the off position. I am simply trying to figure out if my car is wired correctly.

I call them parking lamps. When you park on the street at night, you can turn on the parking lights on the road side of the car, be it left or right side. The owners manual for the R170 calls them "standing lamps".
