Example of the downweighting approach using Ebola data

Figure 5 below shows the upper limit of the signal detection threshold for epitweetr Ebola data, both the original (in red) with no downweighting and the downweighted upper threshold (in blue) after taking previous signals in the historic values into account.

Note that the downweighted upper threshold detects three additional signals, compared to the original threshold.
