Japanese term

混ぜる

Non-PRO Japanese to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
Dear ProZ members,

if the director of a movie is supervising the audio mix of his work with the audio engineer and says something like 声を混ぜてください, is that 混ぜる perceived as a technical term or does he just want to give the idea of "putting things together"?

I guess the latter, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you very much!

A quick google search of "オーディオミキシング "混ぜる"" shows numerous examples of the term being used analogously to how audio engineers in English use "mix": トラック/音/シグナルを混ぜる = "mix tracks/sounds/signals". This is the most likely meaning, but even if it's not being used as the technical term for mix, likely the director is talking about "mixing" the voices in some other way (such as having them played over each other).
