I have a little doubt about this sentence:
貴様を倒して栄光の座に登る
As you may guess, the context is very simple: there are two enemies, and one of them is swearing the other that he will defeat him. The man who says the sentence is part of an army.
I was wondering whether 栄光の座に登る means that thanks to his actions he'll be able to climb up the hierarchies in the army, or just that he will be bestowed great honors.

It should be OK to translate it literally as it's obvious that the person used it a metaphor to infer he would climb up the rank and get respected. Through this expression, I've got an impression that the person is very confident and a bit
overly ambitious.
