"Tragfähigkeitsreduzierung durch Neigungswinkel" and

"Der Neigungswinkel «beta β» im Anschlagmittel zum Kranhaken ist von größter Bedeutung.

Imagine a two strand sling from a crane hook, each strand to one end of a load. The Neigungswinkel is the angle between the slings at the crane hook.

Can someone help me with the correct term for this please?

Neigungswinkel I have found a very clear diagram which shows that Bernd is correct in his definition. Sorry to have misled people.

Does this change anyone's ideas about the English equivalent?

@ transatgees Not sure whether you have the correct understanding of Neigungswinkel - in Germany it is the angle formed by the sling leg and the vertical. In the English speaking community they almost exclusively refer to sling angle which is the angle of the sling leg with the horizontal. So a Neigungswinkel of 60° equals a sling angle of 30°.

tilt angle

I am not very familiar with engineering terminology. However, Neigungswinkel means tilt (tilting) angle. Tragfähigkeitsreduzierung is load-capacity reduction.
