There is also a reason why I often use rather lavish greetings at the end of an email. Wishing someone a wonderful afternoon / a great weekend with lots of sunshine is a clear indication that the conversation is now OVER and that there are no further emails necessary, desired or expected. Otherwise "Sincerely" or any other "open-end" greeting might trigger just ANOTHER email with wishes for nice weekends and such, to which of course you have to respond if you were not raised in a barn, and within less than an hour your inbox looks like a chat room.
