I seem to recall an argument (maybe here on ProZ, maybe on other sites... I can't remember) about companies that would still need human translators to serve as their scapegoats if something went wrong.

Please note that, in this video, it is the human who is rude. And quite extrordinarily, the robot ignores this rudeness and focuses on the task.

It is imperfect, it always will. It is translation without thinking.

Still, there are circumstances where it can be valuable. Translators, if they so wish, can profit, too, if they work in a smart way.

Please don't put a human face on machine translation. This is rather stupid and it hurts us all. If you choose to do post-editing (TAUS terminology), do what you are expected to do. Nothing more, nothing less. ▲ Collapse
