With all the browsers I have available to me (IE6, Firefox, Camino, Mozilla) I receive the following error when accessing ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/msdn/newup/glossary/

"425: Can't open data connection"

I need the most updated English>Japanese glossary for a localization project.

Any suggestions?

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/msdn/newup/Glossary/ Jan 28, 2005

The site opens perfectly for me, and I can see all the zip files there. Are you sure you write it in full as it appears here in the heading?
If it is necessary, contact me privately and I can download the file and send it by e-mail to you. Mind you, it has +29 megas...
Regards,
M

Use an ftp application Jan 28, 2005

I was able to access the glossaries using smart_ftp and by using the ftp command from a DOS window. So the best thing is to use your favorite ftp app.

BTW, when I connected through the DOS command line, I received the following notification:

230-We will be turning off ftp.microsoft.com on May 1st, 2005.
Please use the Download Center: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
Thank you.

I did not yet find the glossaries under http://www.microsoft.com/downloads.

HTH,

Alaa

I can't find any bilingual glossaries there (I'm looking for a recent Spanish/English gloss).

Not that kind. Jan 30, 2005

That's a different thing, this seems to be a terminology glossary.
