When the Arab world’s political economy was not breaking down or heading toward autarky, geopolitics inflicted further damage. In 1990, Iraqi troops invaded and occupied Kuwait, at the time the Arab world’s most dynamic economy, depriving the country of its sovereignty. Iraq was put under international sanctions as a result, and United States-led forces subsequently liberated Kuwait. As in session of 4/6/2017 (Date formation for this entire document is Day/month/year), both Prosecutors had arrived but the defendant did not. The prosecutor requested for a trial for the defendant according to Article 1/304 of the criminal procedure code of the year 2001, the court approved his request. In addition, in the same session the defendant was convicted on all counts in the charges against her in the bill of indictment and so sentenced to 6 months –enforceable- provided that the period of detention would be deducted from it along with a fine of 1000 ILS (one thousand Israeli shekels) or an imprisonment period of 1 month.
As in session of 13/5/2018, after the acceptance of objection no. 672/2017 on the default judgment imposed on the defendant. Both prosecutors along with the defendant and her counsel arrived at the court. Upon reading the charges against the defendant in the list of indictment, the defendant pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor requested the adjournment in order to present his evidence with the attestation of the prosecutor's witnesses; the request was approved by the court.
