Source text - English Paco Arango's latest film (Maktub) once again draws from his personal experiences with philanthropic associations dedicated to sick children. This time however he greatly broadens his view point and does not focus exclusively on the story of a sick person, but rather on a young man who leads a bad life and has the supernatural gift of healing but is not aware of it. We are referring to Alec (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), womaniser and gambler who adds the pain of his brother's recent death to his to his fateful and debt filled present. One day, an unknown relative, Richard (Jonathan Pryce) offers him financial help in exchange for a mysterious agreement.
