Bio
I am a software developer with a longtime interest in J->E localization. I don't have professional experience in games but I would like that to change. I've done hobbyist translation for about ten years, which includes video, prose, dialogue, game materials, and game marketing. While this has been informal and under handles, I would be happy to provide proof, material, and references.

I'm very diligent about consistency in style and content. I love finding connections and I have a history of doing the research to fully understand them and make sure they're ready to be rediscovered by the English audience. I have a strong command of English proofing and a strong style of character voice. In software my specialization has been user experience engineering, and I would love to bring that experience and mindset to both localization engineering and the craft of writing.

From my interest in localization, I've studied Japanese to N2 literacy and practiced in real settings to conversational mastery. Outside of the actual translation, this skill has helped me track Japanese responses, reference primary original-language sources like interviews, and check parts of the script against the source. I find these all to be invaluable in fully internalizing the intent and effect of the work.
