Bio

Elisabeth Maurland

I am a native speaker of Norwegian with full bilingual proficiency in English after more than 30 years' residency
in the United States.

I have been a professional translator for ten years, and my areas of translating experience include art and culture, marketing, newspaper articles, app and website localization, computer software instructions, IT and user interface, subtitling, general legal texts, technical manuals, and fiction.

I also have a good working knowledge of Danish and Swedish due to their similarities to
Norwegian, and I often translate from these languages as well. I am highly attentive to detail, while conveying the creative spirit of the original documents.

After growing up in Norway, all my higher education was completed in the United States.
Since graduating I have been running my own ceramics studio for 25 years and have
gained significant experience in working with ceramic materials, technical equipment,
galleries, and exhibitions.
