Hello, colleagues, I’m John, a national account sales manager for one of our major retail customers. Almost every employee plays a part in selling and promoting our products in one way or another.
In every country where we operate, we must comply with the antitrust and competition laws that apply to our business. And, our business dealings with our competitors and how we promote our products should always be aligned with the principles set forth in our Values and Code.
Antitrust laws govern how we deal with our competitors. To operate consistently with antitrust laws, you should never:
-аgree with a competitor on prices or other sales terms; or
-divide or assign sales territories, customers, or product lines;
-сoordinate bids with a competitor; or
-гse tactics designed to defame the competition.
Antitrust laws are complex, and no summary can address every issue that might occur. The best approach is to avoid talking to our competitors about our business and treat them fairly. When in doubt, always check with the Law Department.
In promoting our products, you must always:
treat competitors honestly, fairly and objectively;
-compete vigorously but with integrity;
-present our products in an honest and forthright manner, without making unsubstantiated or exaggerated claims; and
-refrain from making derogatory comments about the competition even in internal sales materials and internal business emails.
