Bio
I am a writer.

This will be no ordinary CV with only the stats. This will be an introduction of me.

I do both Norwegian to English and English to Norwegian translations.

My experience have been much "learn as you go". No writer becomes fully learned.
As a youngster, I have always had a passion for travels. It might have to do with parents whom both had work in the travelling business. A mother working for SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System), and a stepfather working for NCL (Norwegian Cruise Lines).

In my youth, I was more into sports than bookly learning. There was always something about writing that was lurking unconsiesly.

At the age of 17, I went to Kansas, US. as an exchange student. After only a month, I started to think, breath, and dream in English.

After my army service, I wasn't sure what to do. All I wanted was to get a chance to continue seeking some fortune abroad. I did not get riches in silver or gold, but in experience.

I went to Canary Islands, and tried to sell Timeshare of all things. I didn't make any money, but I discovered something deeper. My passion for writing. So I went back to Norway and school to get that diploma of specialized expertice from the university.
Unfortunately, that diploma never occured. There was something more important that happened. I started ton educate myself as a writer. Through poetry, reading literature, and dream of another journey.

During the 2nd part of the 90's I wrote two poetry collections that didn't get accepted. I may not have been "original" enough. I see now, that I wasn't mature enough as a writer.
Poetry is an excellent way of making language float. I see that as a part of my education.
In 2000, a friend and colleague of mine introduced me to Shabana Rehman, the comedienne, editor, and author. She was in Dagbladet at the time, and was looking for "new talent!. Soon after, I was writing semi weekly comments for "Fundamental", a newssite for Dagbladet with a new twist.
During the time, I also wrote for a small underground paper. Mostly for fun, and to get some readers.

In 2004, I went to Belfast. For some years, I was struggling with both a novel as well as a short story collection. With a job offer somewhere else, seemed to be a perfect oportunity to get over my writers block.
It was in Northen-Ireland where I also started to write in English. For a while, I pondered writing in English as well, but didn't feel good enough. My short story collection got finished, and an English version of it was soon on its way. I worked for MSN in Belfast, as a tech. support agent, and also did translations being done there.

After some years in Belfast, I took some time off in Norway, and went abroad again in 2009. Since then I have been mostly abroad, writing on my own things, working for different companies, as another book is lurking in the horizon.

In this time, I have perfected my English, while I still have my mother tongue intact.

I can do technical translations with IT, legal documents, literary works, poetry, prose, journalism, interpretations and, editorials and columns.

As an auodidact writer, with a broad experience of translations and writings in several fields, I think that something between Bachelor and Diploma is equal to my experience and skills.

I do my own writing on the internet these days. These are mostly commentaries and a creative angle on my travels.

At the monent, I do some short production translation work, and am available for more translations for more clients.
