Bio
What is wrong with most translations? They sound stilted and unnatural. They sound like translations.

My greatest asset as a translator is my ear: through years of reading and writing in a variety of fields, I have developed superior writing and editing skills. I can always hear a false note, and I keep turning a phrase until it rings true. With me you get a translation that does not sound like a translation.

As a full-time resident of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, I have been able to perfect my comprehension of French, while translating exclusively into my native language, English.

My fields of specialization include the following:

*Literature (BA-bilingual program, Canadian Literature, 2001; published author)
*Education (BA, bilingual program, Education, 2004; 10+ years experience as a teacher)
*Human resources (extensive experience translating employment offers)
*Arts and culture (professional experience with press kits, bios, grant applications)
*Restaurant and tourism (both translation and work experience in the industry)

My research expertise allows me to work in a variety of fields outside of my fields of specialization. I carefully evaluate any text before committing to a job, to ensure my suitability.

My goal is to develop lasting relationships with clients based on top-quality translations, scrupulous professionalism, and reasonable rates.

I am comfortable with tight deadlines, and always willing to do a sample translation - that way you can be confident that I am the right match for your project. Of course I offer a binding free quote before you entrust me with your job.

Consult my resume or website for samples of my work, and get in touch with questions.
