Native English speaker working from Italian into English and Slovak into English.
I'm a generalist translator with significant experience in:
legal documents and contracts;
annual financial reports and other finance texts;
pharmaceutical trials and ethics committee reports;
business proposals and marketing;
university transcripts and diplomas;
personal identification documents;
tourism and hospitality.
On occasion, I do project management and cooperate with other linguists outside of my language pairs. I also work with trusted partners on English to Slovak and English to Italian projects.
Since 2014, I have been responsible for hiring the largest volume of Rusyn to English transcription and translation, creating a corpus that is the largest volume of Rusyn to English ever, and has been used to create the first Rusyn to English machine translation engine.
I am a talented communicator and relationship manager, informed through years of experience as a freelancer and non-profit manager. I have the technical and soft skills necessary for a successful translator, as a motivated self-starter with an eye for detail and quality assurance.
I'm an expert user of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, and I work with TRADOS-compatible software. I am also familiar with Wordfast, Memsource and the major cloud-based CAT tools.
