My name is Linda Renate Steinsland, and I am currently living in Kristiansand, Norway.
I have 5 years of higher education such as:
A bachelor degree in translation and Intercultural Communication at the University of Agder, Norway (Currently).
1 year of media and communication at Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication, Norway.
1,5 year of international politics and conflict management at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa.
I am currently in my last year of my bachelor`s degree in translation.
I am a very goal-oriented and organized person who keeps deadlines.
Translation is all about capturing the meaning behind the text as a whole and not just word by word. That is what separates translators from others; they translate corresponding emotions, feelings and stories behind the text from one language into another.
I love to travel and I have earlier combined travelling with studies. I spent my second year in high school in the United States, I studied in Brazil for four months, and I studied international politics, conflict management, French and Afrikaans in South Africa for a year and a half.
My native language is Norwegian, but I speak English fluently and I have also studied both German, French and Afrikaans.
Text types I have most experience with are: financial, legal and technical, but I translate other texts too.
I also specialize in media and communication, international politics, history and journalism as these subjects have been the dept of my previous studies.
