Sto traducendo un romanzo uruguayano degli anni '50 e ho trovato questa espressione, che non mi sembra utilizzata nel senso comune di "cospiratrice", dato che non c'è nessun riferimento politico o di altro tipo.
Qualcuno saprebbe aiutarmi? La frase è questa:

La muchacha que yo recordaba era una entusiasta, una vacilante y alegre conspiradora. Esta que ahora enfrentaba
era una mujer fuerte.
