Peut-être il faudrait choisir l'un des deux termes (où peut-être utiliser tous les deux) en dépendant de la phrase complète. D'après ce dictionnaire: http://dictionnaire.phpmyvisites.net/lettre-105.html ce serait la définition pour chacun:
COMPOSANT: Désigne un objet faisant partie d'un système. Les puces sont par exemple des composants électronique (tout comme les exemples proposés dans le texte source).
CONSOMMABLE: Désigne un élément à utilisation limitée, c'est-à-dire qu'il faut renouveler : papier et encre pour une imprimante, par exemple.

D'ailleurs on fait la même différence en espagnol: "componentes vs. consumibles".
