Muchas gracias!

"I love messing about all day"

Explanation:
could put it in stronger terms as in "f...ing"

Note added at 1 hr (2021-04-13 01:36:15 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------

the "f" word might be a tad too strong in a song but you never know with rockers

"fooling around" as an alternative option

covers a lot of bases :)

or just might mean "twiddling my thumbs"

--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 1 hr (2021-04-13 01:50:29 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------

"twiddling my thumbs" = Be bored or idle, as in There I sat for three hours, twiddling my thumbs, while he made call after call. This expression alludes to the habit of idly turning one's thumbs about one another during a period of inactivity.

IrE: I am into buzzing around like a blue-arsed fly all day

Explanation:
Not exactly an idling simile, but I've already added the BrE and OzE term of fart-arsing alternative to Barbara C's answer, whilst - note the conjunction, English grammarians - the example sentence is rather topical.

Funnily enough, I've only ever heard this expression from a Dubliner criticising my own behavio/u/r.

Example sentence(s):
  • The Duke of Edinburgh apparently annoyed ...asked a photographer if he was getting enough pictures. “I hope so, sir”, the photographer replied. “You should do”, the Duke said. “You have been running around like a blue-arsed fly.”—U.P.I.

neutral  patinba: Actually, this is probably the exact opposite of the meaning, as it implies rushing about being extremely busy, while someone who is "al pedo" is collapsed on the sofa with a six-pack//Pointless inactivity, in fact.
6 hrs
-> There is still a residual meaning of pointless activity.

disagree  Yvonne Gallagher: opposite meaning//HUH??
