One part of what students will be trained to do. I'm not clear on whether 'disciplinar' means disciplinary, simply in terms of the discipline of psychology / psychiatry, or whether it refers to something more specific and/or discipline in terms of behaviour.

'Realizar estudios e investigaciones en el área del quehacer disciplinar que involucra a los procesos psicológicos y psicopatológicos a lo largo de la niñez y la latencia como ciclos vitales.'

My recommendation is to translate the entire phrase “en el área del quehacer disciplinar” with “in the field” (which effectively would leave “el quehacer disciplinar” untranslated).
