Spanish term or phrase: dieta diferida
(final part of the question doesn't need to be answered - just curious).

Gracias mil!

staggered diet

Explanation:
it would be helpful to know what condition of the patient this diet is meant to treat: does your text say whether the patient suffers from obesity or from a digestive problem?

A "staggered diet" may be one where at first the patient is fed the same calorie intake as s/he is used to but gradually it is reduced each day... in other words, the patient is not put straight onto a low-calorie diet, if obesity is the problem.

2° SOLO FRUTAS, las que quieras

3° SOLO QUESOS y yogour

4° SOLO POLLO, hervido, asado (no frito)

5° SOLO VERDURAS HERVIDAS

6° SOLO PESCADO, tambien hervido a la parrilla

7° DÍA DE FIESTA!!! con moderación podés comer lo que quieras.

8° VOLVER A COMENZAR

neutral  Robert Forstag: As I commented when this material was previously posted (it was subsequently deleted), it seems highly doubtful that such a diet would be recommended for a patient in intensive care [!].

-> I agree it seems somewhat unusual, but this is a translation of the term and who knows what the patient is being treated for!

Diet programmed for one type of food a day

Explanation:
I have heard of this term only as it relates to a diet where one loses weight by eating one certain type of food only each day. For example, fruit one day, fish another day, grains only on another and so on.
