Degree in Occupational Medicine Explanation: "Diplomado" means that the person has earned a degree in the field. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2020-06-19 03:24:47 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I chose 'degree' rather than 'diploma' because "diploma" in Spanish **typically** refers to university-level education. In a c.v. in English, one would typically use the term 'degree', rather than 'diploma' in referring to one's advanced education, reserving 'diploma' for high school. It running text, one might say 's/he holds a degree in occupational medicine'. I hope this helps :-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 hrs (2020-06-19 00:52:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In the context of a university-conferred credential, it would be helpful to know the requirements to establish equivalence. In this vein, I'd imagine that, to gain admission, students would need to have already earned a suitable degree and, to finish the 'diplomado,' to have met academic requirements that are significantly less (in terms of the time they take to complete) than those required for the master's. If not, then why take the 'diplomado' and not the 'maestría'? If this is the case, then 'diploma' or 'postgraduate certificate' may be acceptable options for the UK, while 'certificate' or 'graduate certificate' would be good options for the US. medicina de trabajo = occupational medicine // occupational health -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 hrs (2020-06-19 02:17:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "diploma in occupational medicine" About 261,000 results (0.33 seconds) https://www.google.com/search?q="diploma in occupational med... It's interesting to note as well that the length of 200 hours of CLEA's diplomado (a link to which I posted in Discussion) is somewhat consistent to the 15-18 credits often needed for a certificate at US universities, where, generally speaking, one credit is equal to 15 hours of instruction (which is precisely the formula we used at Northern Marianas College, where I was involved in course and program assessment in the context of WASC accreditation). Saludos y suerte desde Vietnam :-) |
