Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Cystoprostatectomy pathology report
Spanish term or phrase: eje fibroadiposo
The following appears in a pathology report for a cystoprostatectomy specimen:
Uraco: un fragmento de tejido fibroadiposo de 10 x 4 x 1.6 cm. Eje fibrovascular sin lesiones. No observan nódulos. Se procesa en cortes representativos.

Can anyone help with "eje fibroadiposo" as the literal translation as "fibrovascular axis" doesn't seem quite right in this context.

Cheers,
John

Explanation:
I hope it helps...

fibrovascular septa ...look at this paper...it is in portuguese into english ...

eje (eixo) was translated as septa in english

Após tireoidectomia total, o diagnóstico histológico foi de um carcinoma misto: medular-papilar com diferenciação oxifílica, apresentando arranjos papilares com eixos fibro-vasculares contendo predomínio de células de padrão oxifílico, tanto no nódulo como nos gânglios cervicais metastáticos.

After total thyroidectomy, on histology, a mixed medullary-papillary carcinoma with oxyphilic differentiation was diagnosed based on the papillary arrangement with fibrovascular septa containing cells showing a predominant oxyphilic pattern, both in the thyroid nodule and in regional cervical lymph nodes.
