It's a translation of a conversation between a person from Ecuador and two attorneys living in The US. The speaker doesn't has a high level of education. He is a native speaker from that country living in The US for many years. He experienced a construction accident.

Context:

Conversation between attorney and Ecuadorian Spanish native speaker.

Attorney: What was your job duties in that company?

@ asker: Well you are probably a better judge of that! I can only give you some examples.

They set the machine and load it with the correct cutting tools. Machinists inspect work pieces throughout a production run. In addition, machinists measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining. Machinists additionally clean and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on machines, tooling and parts.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for your help Wendy.

Asker: I also want to ask you. Is this appropriate for American English? I notice that you are located in Europe. Please let me know. Thanks a lot. Yugoslavia.

Asker: Hi Mrs Wendy, Thanks for letting me know. I think machine operator is more used in The United States than machinist. I think this was the British version of the translation of "Operador de máquina"
