Spanish term or phrase: chino
From Spanish from Spain for translation to British English.

Relating to installing sliding door hardware. Essentially a nut, but of a specific design that spreads the load and leaves a relatively attractive finish. Placed on one side of a wall to receive a bolt passed through the wall from the other side, it has a flattish conical shape (Chinese hat?) with the point rounded. The end of the bolt remains hidden inside the "chino".

Chinese hat (panel support) washer with captive nut
Explanation:
The first (Spanish) reference describes them as being a nut cover with integrated washer and nut that is used to prevent thermal bridging in refrigerated installations.

The second (Spanish) reference shows a crossection and shows how it fits

The last reference (English) describes it as a Chinese hat panel support washer with a captive nut.

They look to be used in conjunction with fixing bolts that pass through insulated wall panels eg Kingspan. As well as preventing thermal bridging, the design spreads the forces across a larger area than a nut or small washer (and won't squash the panel), and it's form makes it easy to clean (more hygenic).

(You would normally see a nut/washer combination described as a nut with integrated washer, but in this case, I think as the 'hat' covers everything and effectively is the washer, I think the way they describe it as washer with integrated nut makes more sense.)

conical nut

Explanation:
This seems to be the simplest solution based on your description. You could also say "cap".

Conical nuts don't have to be perfectly conical:
