So, correct me if I'm wrong, but in US med schools there doesn't seem to be any conventional way of distinguishing specialty departments (like Paediatrics) from non-specialty ones (like, I don't know, Anatomy, or IT). Moreover, the difference is pretty much self-evident. In Russia, in a med school you can have a Department of Philosophy, but you obviously can't have a Philosophy practice afterwards (presumably, treating the human condition)!

So, @Dylan, to my mind, you don't need to translate the 'с курсом ПО' tag at all!

In terms of medicine, postgraduate and specialisation education is, in effect, one and the same thing. You can't have a specialty (and can't practice) after leaving a med school. Therefore, whether ПО means последипломное (postgraduate) or профессиональное (specialty) обучение is irrelevant. What is relevant here is that it's a place that allows one to have the necessary specialisation to actually practice medicine.

I would say specialty or specialization. Example:
Infectious diseases, also known as infectiology, is a medical specialty dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of complex infections.

This is the meaning. Frank, you may suggest better one, as I could not think of any other variant than *with highlights". But this is the meaning.

Russian с курсом I don't think means course, it means IMHO, с направлением with direction or with highlights

This is after graduation something. The question is whether it is a "course", that is a class, or is it professional training in a medical specialty. Secondarily, what is its Western equivalent.
