Lo busqué en Google Brasil Imagens y salen tantas cosas bajo bolinho, que está difícil darte una respuesta correcta. Aparecen "muffins", mantecadas (como llamamos en México a las madalenas de España), buñuelitos parecidos a croquetitas (como lo que propones), y otros que no sé qué son.
