Portuguese term or phrase: borda de sangria
"Natureza de demarcação: .....borda alta empedrada e borda de sangria"

It is a very old hand written document and after comparing with other occurrences of this word in the document I believe it actually reads "borda de sangria". I have seen somewhere that "sangria" means something that overlaps its boundaries.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

bleed; bleed area; cutoff border

Explanation:
I would probably draw from the notion of "bleeding" in the context of printing. Since this is guesswork, I rate it with a low confidence level.

"The bleed area (edge of paper) is the area that is going to be cut off by the machine, but make sure that this area is filled with image and color so that there is no white space left on your card when it is trimmed." - https://99designs.com/blog/tips/print-file-mistakes-to-avoid...
