like ordering a Ferrari and getting a Skoda Explanation: This phrase is not necessarily the best for the context, but you could use a phrase like this, to get the meaning across - ie that they are saying that the product is as high quality as the other one, but and you believe you are getting one thing when actually you are getting something else. Another suggestion along these lines: It's like ordering creme brulee and getting ryebread. Or, not so extreme: It's like creme brullee without the 'creme' |

a case of flattering (but) to deceive Explanation: Once again, depends on context and the kind of product - I like the Ferrrari Skoda one as well - and if you want a comment comparing products or a comment on the deception itself. The flattering here is complimenting the 'copycating'. |
