Portuguese term or phrase: Uso de "laranjas"
I am trying to translate a news article from a financial newsletter and I am stuck on the word laranja. I have in mind "imposter" but I am not sure it really fits the sentence. Could anyone give me a better word? Or maybe confirm that "imposter" is the best translation?

Sentence is as follows:
"A Procuradoria Geral da República afirmou que depósitos em espécie abrem margem para a prática de fraudes, como o uso de laranjas."

Straw men
Explanation:
"Straw man" tem vários sentidos em inglês, não neste contexto seria este:

"a person whose importance or function is only nominal, as to cover another's activities; front".

fronts / front people

Explanation:
Imposter doesn't really convey the meaning of "laranja", I don't think, but front man does the job.

Huh, apparently "strawman" can also refer to someone who's used as a cover for illegal activities. I'd probably shy away from using that one though, as it's more commonly used (I feel) to refer to the logical fallacy.

the perpetration of fraud, including the fraudulent use of unwitting third parties ("laranjas").

Explanation:
The laranja may be an individual or a company, witting or unwitting. So my suggestion roughly covers the ground. To accurately render "laranja" cannot be done in one word in this context, in my opinion.
