Japanese term or phrase: 昼間の日常編
Context:

後は同時進行で昼間の日常編をサブライターに投げて,みんなで思いついたことをやろう、という形でした。

They're talking about writing this Doujin comic. I'm unfamiliar with what a 日常編 is. If it seriously means they produce one of these everyday or something the color me impressed! 昼間の implies they have one out for the afternoon whenever they release one? I'm unfamiliar with what exactly they're talking about, and no Google searches seems to produce anything in English. Is a 日常編 like how there's comics in the daily paper or something, possibly?

Any advice appreciated.

English translation:daytime episodes without significant dramas
Explanation:
They relegate daytime episodes without significant dramas to サブライター and the main writer writes episodes that move the story forward. 日常 can be translated as ”everyday life" as Lincoln has suggested, which can be rephrased as "uneventful life" But using such words as "uneventful", "everyday" or "ordinary" makes the comics sound rather boring. Hence, "without significant dramas".

Everyday life

Explanation:
It is the depiction of the characters' everyday life, typically lighthearted or humorous episodes, as opposed to serious events that advance the story.

the daytime daily edition [draft]

Explanation:
Assuming this passage to be a managerial summary of the method used by the said comics production team.
The text seems to imply that, after [new market conditions?/a particular event already mentioned?/ had arisen], they produced at least two editions daily: a day time edition and an evening edition. If so, would make sense of it this way:
"After that, the way we operated was to work in parallel, throwing the daytime daily edition's [story line] to [our team of] sub-writers, and for the final copy, settling on the ideas that everyone had thought of."

PS: the proposed word tring should read: The daytime daily edition [story line] not [draft]

In fact, once "daytime' is used "daily' becomes unnecessary . So the string should then read : The daytime edition story line
