classify/ typify Explanation: Although categorizing is rather similar to classifying, in this case I believe you should use classify. I have checked several dictionaries and done some research, I found that in programming the program can classify or typify the data before storing it (typification). Typification is essentially "classifying in patterns" according to an online dictionary.
