tilt/shift optical axis outward Explanation: A focus error detector for detecting a signal representing a degree of a focus error of an objective lens with respect to an optical disk in an optical pickup, in order to eliminate errors due to an optical axis shift or tilt of the reflected light reflected from the optical disk http://www.google.com.na/patents/US5629514 |

(oscillate/rotate the galvano mirror) to move the beam Explanation: http://www.laser-concierge.com/locus/locus01.php There was only one hit for "oscillate the optical axis". This is probably because movement of a beam is just a result of oscillating the scanner's mirror. Hence, the more frequently used expression seems to focus on oscillating/rotating the mirror. (In addition, they seem to call the scanning beam simply a "beam" instead of an optical axis. ) |
