utility/usefulness Explanation: Utility is the extent something satisfies needs or wants. The utility of a catalyst is often how much the catalyst helps a reaction to occur in a desired way. That depends on the characteristics of the catalyst. Because there are many variables to consider regarding the characteristics of a catalyst (chemical structure, constituent elements, etc.), predicting what will happen is difficult. So, it is difficult to predict how useful, or in other words the utility, of the catalyst. |
